CREATIVE ALCHEMIST.

I'm Naqib Shamsuri, your friendly neighbourhood Creative Alchemist. And while alchemists attempt to turn lead into gold, I strive to turn insightful ideas into magical campaigns.

 

Born in Malaysia and raised around the world, I am an easy-going and inquisitive oddity with a penchant for mental experimentation. My 35 years of living and loving life includes 9 years of International School education and 10 years of Creative Industry experience.

 

My formula for creativity comes from a multitude of passions which include ADVERTISING, ART, MUSIC, ACTIVISM, and CULTURE. More often than not, I blend these different disciplines to dream up my crazy ideas.

I’ve won awards and merits for Kancil, Effies, and AdStars - but the coveted Lion, Pencil and more still evade me.  Thus, I view this section as still under construction.

Speaker & Performer

I was invited to speak at TEDxKL 2014, the 3rd largest at its time, on the subject of balancing career and passion as enabled through the power of the Internet.

TV Presenter

I co-hosted a nationally syndicated variety talk show called The 8TV Quickie. At its time, it was the most watched English talk show in the country.

Music & Poetry

I focus my personal time on music and poetry. I have written songs that have topped music charts and developed spoken word pieces for international brands.

BEING THE CHANGE

Activist 

I collaborated with prominent Malaysian NGOs to develop a consolidated platform, 'Kita Malaysia', that cultivates social harmony among multi-racial Malaysians.
